We got married on the 3rd of September 1960, surrounded mostly by David's big family. We exchanged vows in St Mary's church, Ladywell near Lewisham. It was a lovely sunny day, and we had hired a posh car especially for the occasion. A dear friend of mine gave me away, and one of our wedding photos was published in the daily mirror for all to enjoy. We had known each other since I was 17 and David was 19. We had been together for three years before we tied the knot and I will be celebrating our 54th wedding anniversary this year. I miss him dearly.
